Event: The Flutterfly Project - HAPPENING NOW!!!
Details:
October is SIDS Awareness Month.
Honor your angel or an angel you know that has died as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) by making a flutterfly (butterfly) in their honor.
Any size, color, or shape. Be as creative as you possibly can. More than one flutterfly can be submitted for each angel. Please be sure to include the angel's name, d/o/b-d/o/d, and who the flutterfly comes from.
Each entry should be mailed to:

Deadline: October 24, 2011
Once all flutterflies have been recieved, they will all collectively be mounted and displayed to visually show the impact that SIDS makes across the country. (Note: You will not get your flutterfly back. However, pictures will be taken of each one and posted on the LTC page. You may look for your submission and tag yourself to it.)
More details will be in the October 2011 LTC Newsletter. Also, included in the October 2011 LTC Newsletter will be the story of the flutterfly and how butterflies became the universal representation for all children who have passed.

Through the rest of September and all of October, write, write, write! Please take five minutes of your time and write to any and/or all of the following news outlets to make the world remember our children!
Infantloss is a taboo subject, and is often swept under the rug. Especially losses that have no definitive cause (like SIDS) are hardly spoken about because of fear of the unknown.
We need exposure, awareness, and ligh...t shed on infantloss. We need to know why our babies are dying. October is infantloss awareness month. REMEMBER OUR CHILDREN!
